The Chief Audit Officer needs at least five years of experience, while the Assistant Director needs at least three years after qualification. Chief Audit Officer applicants may also qualify through ACCA, ICMA or CA.

Candidates holding an M.Phil or PhD in the relevant field will be given preference for the Director and Assistant Director posts. Experience with government agencies, NGOs, or international and domestic donor organizations, along with knowledge of the education sector, is also an advantage.
